Thanks to the European project REMEMBER (“Restoring the Memory of Adriatic ports site. Maritime culture to foster Balanced Territorial growth”), funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia Program 2014 – 2020, the North Adriatic Sea Port System Authority is proposing a new narrative on the past and present of the Veneto’s ports, highlighting unexplored aspects of them.
The Virtual Museum of the Ports of Venice and Chioggia, in fact, makes it possible to navigate, on site or remotely, along cognitive paths about the seafaring tradition, structures and infrastructures related to the life and functionality of the lagoon ports, as well as to discover the secrets of some symbolic monuments of the Serenissima and the performance of portuality today.
This ambitious yet accessible project combines history and technology to allow visitors to immerse themselves in the past, learn about the present, and imagine the future of Veneto’s maritime-port culture.
